Perform Better is an excellent resource for functional fitness products and education.
Core Performance by Mark Verstegen is one of my workout bibles, particularly for boomer fitness. I personally use several of his exercises for every one of my own personal workouts. Great exercises. Great book.
Younger Next Year for men/women – co-written by one of the country’s most prominent internists, Dr. Henry “Harry” Lodge, and his star patient, the 73-year-old Chris Crowley. These are the books that show us how to turn back our biological clocks—how to put off 70% of the normal problems of aging (weakness, sore joints, bad balance) and eliminate 50% of serious illness and injury. These are no punches pulled books on what you need to know and need to do to maximize your chances of living a long, vital and healthy life. from around $7 for the hardcover. A great deal.
Power Systems JC Predator Level 2 – Orange – Incredibly versatile. I use these for every one of my own personal workouts. Just get them. $50
SPRI Elite Xercise Balance Ball (Red, 65cm) – Trust me, you do not want to get cheap stability balls. The last thing that you want is for one to bust when you’re doing flyes with 40 lb dumb-bells while spread-eagle on top of one. Hello broken ribs. Right Brady? these are professional stability balls that can take years of use. Rated for 500 lbs. $40 and worth every penny.
Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser We purchased one of these about 2 years ago and it has become one of our most valuable health tools. I will floss (very carefully), then use the ultrasonic to brush thoroughly and then do the waterpic and I am always amazed and somewhat dismayed at all the debris that this bad boy manages to flush from my mouth. My 6-month cleanings have become way better and faster. Just get it!
